[ Wayward Pines memories. ]

wayward pines.
  • Remembers being in town for a very long and hazy amount of time which feels equivalent to the town's history. Moved in from someplace else he doesn't really recall anymore.
  • Does not really remember his name very well, but answers easily to Roman Fletcher.
  • Travels on and off to new and exciting places where he learns new and exciting languages and old and exciting history. Always comes back home.
  • Had a twin brother who traumatically tragically passed away when they were younger.
  • Works as NPC job pinch-hitter instead of having a specific occupation.
    • PC shops: Go Ask Alice, Cherry Bomb Exterminating
  • Father to Gladiolus and Iris Amicitia. By extension, Crowe Altius' uncle.
  • Thomas Raith's older brother. By extension, Justine's brother-in-law.
  • Bit of a flirtatious friendship with Nyx Ulric.
  • Dated Leia Organa when they were younger and was around to know of Han leaving and their son being a dickweed. Now they're just Good Friends.
  • Long-time neighbors with Peter Quill, Gamora, and their son Peter Parker.
  • Friends with Dutch, helping her open up and being a shoulder to lean on for about a year and a half now.
  • Acted as a big brother-figure for Blaine DeBeers and Bucky Barnes when they were younger.
  • Offers support to Frank Adler, re: single dad with a small child. He knows how that goes.
  • Has hooked up with Eliot Waugh at least once in the past.
  • Numerous acquaintances in and around town:
    • John Blake, Alec Lightwood, David Nolan, Peter Nureyev ("Pierce Steel"), Henry Cooldown, Natasha Romanoff (MCU), Rhiannon Allan, Steve Rogers (MCU)
  • [Insert CR here!]
 another life.
  • The existence of his brother and the death of said brother by the hands of their master's dogs in gory detail. Allows him to vaguely understand where he comes from and what he's lost, giving himself some kind of focal point even if it's a really downer one. Does not outright remember his brother's name, but knows it's important and strangely tied to his identity as a whole.
  • His immortality: he is very old, and very hard to kill. Context for the emotional maturity and tangled reasoning for more difficult matters.
  • That he is a father, numerous times over. He still has family even after knowing his brother is very dead, and this allows him to understand why he can still open his heart and not be an intensely cynical bastard at all times. There's no specific memories tied to this but he remembers that he knows how to take care of children and what it's like to watch them grow up.
  • His most recent family: Lisa, his wife, and his children Kenneth and Ariel. Still living, Cain visits Lisa often as he can and keeps in contact; he's still desperately in love with her no matter where their lives have taken them. Currently divorced due to tensions between their children and Cain, who resent him for his immortality and the curse of the Sight he's given them.
  • Journal-keeping. Cain has a long-held habit of writing journals to keep down very broad strokes of important things in his life, such as his childrens' and lovers' names and a few select facts about them, as well as documenting where he's been over the years and what he was doing in that time. He reads and rewrites them every now and then to keep them from fading, since his memories of the events aren't nearly so easily protected. He doesn't remember what's in the journals themselves but it leaves him with something of a paranoia about keeping track of his memories — both sets.
